Its that time of the year. People are setting up lights & displays in front of their homes or they're flipping a switch to illuminate what was never taken down. Either way feel free to share what's going on in front of your home or in your neighborhood.

According to the Tacky Light Tour there's a few places in the area.
I took a few really bad pictures. They make it seem like I was drunk. I'll try taking some tomorrow night. Besides its time I got off my rump & took a walk around the neighborhood.

That's OK, Barking. I tried to take pictures of some of the lights here last night & didn't fare any better. The city goes nuts stringing lights at Christmas time.

I've heard about this place in the unincorporated part of Kings Mountain, south of the city. & it was written up in the Kings Mountain Herald this week. I found an article from 2007 in the Gaston Gazette concerning it.

For someone who likes trains & Christmas lights, this youtube video might be a winner. Someone posted a Norfolk Southern rolling through Kings Mountain at night with the city's Christmas lights up.
I went to Carolina Christmas on Black Friday at Lowe's Motor Speedway. It was pretty good but it took hella long to get through the line. Three lanes of traffic has to condense down to one to get into the place and people weren't driving at a steady pace.

I was wondering how that was, if it was worth the cost of admission.
We usually go up to Tanglewood. Midway through the displays there's a fire pit and you can roast marshmallows and get hot chocolate, and there's a Christmas shop with all kinds of handcrafted gifts. My boys are older, but they still want to go this year.
And of course, we have to hit McAdenville at some point! Such a sweet tradition.
