A popular barbecue restaurant in Charleston is opening a second location in the coming months.
Dem 2 Brothers and a Grill is set to open another location inside the People’s Building on Summers Street. No official date has been set, but they say they are hoping for sometime in May.
The Charleston Convention & Visitors Bureau coordinated the creation of "Brewers Row" in the 100 block of Summers Street between Quarrier and Lee Streets. It consists of Bad Shepherd Beer, Fife Street Brewing, and Short Story Brewing. You can pick up a "Brewery Passport" and any of the breweries or the CVB. Buy 3 beers at each brewery and get your passport stamped and then you can get a "Brewers Row" pint glass.
“Do the walk, drink the beer, take home the swag.”
I tried them for the first time a couple weeks ago up her in NY. They're good, but I think they are very overhyped. I would recommend a local bakery over this place. But it was cool that they have a team of people making the cookies right there in front of you.
Is secret sandwich society still coming to the Charleston area?
They have just now gotten their Fayetteville building repaired/rebuilt after the fire. Hopefully, they will again look toward Charleston when they get back open (any day now). Somebody needs to tell them that the Books and Brews building is available and is already outfitted to be a restaurant.

I'm not local anymore so I have no way of confirming this, but I heard of two new businesses going in Kanawha City.
1. Dunkin being build on the old Long John Silver's site (near CVS)
2. Sheetz being build on old Hooter's site.
A long time ago, Sheetz had planned to build a store right beside the Hooter's, but it became a Bojangles and a parking lot for Highland Hospital. My guess is that they will tear down the building adjacent to Hooter's as well.
Dunkin was an obvious addition, but will probably be the final death nail for Donut Connection.
