I agree, I switched years ago to gmail. Cable companies have less than stellar email services anyways. The spam filter for example with gmail is top notch, most cable companies I have used have no clue how to handle spam. Considering many have an Android phone these days, using gmail makes things easy.

My needs are Internet and Digital TV. When I shop all the providers for the services/way "I" want it, the bottom line is they pretty much are all doing the same act for the same money.

That's a good idea.

Anyone looking for what service is where, you can go to whitefence.com and put in your zip and that kind of narrows it down to what's in your area. Then you can click each option and enter in your address to narrow things down further.

Yup, I've been doing that for 10+ years. AT&T, for example, runs through Yahoo mail, so that's why you're able to keep the account, even if you cancel your service. Many other ISP's though, run their own mail infrastructure, and most of the time its terrible. Gmail and Outlook.com are the best two at the moment, IMO.
