We're looking to possibly rent when we first move as everyone has suggested - rent before you buy!
We definitely want to rent a house, not a condo or townhome and we also have one 50 lb. dog, so we want a small fenced yard.
Is there a site that shows rentals in the area? We're particularly interested in Daniel Island, but can't seem to find anything other than condo and townhome rentals there.

We wanted to rent when we first moved here. I actually found our NorthCentral/WagenerTerrace area house on craigslist. We did go thru Dick Luke Welcome | Charleston, Mount Pleasant, West Ashley, James Island, Johns Island Property Management by the Dick Luke Company, Inc., Property Management, Rentals (Mt Pleasant based) broker, tho, to get the lease taken care of.
I don't know where you're coming from, but if you're leaving an area where brokers/realtors charge a high % for signing leases, they don't do that here. Tops $70 for the application fee, and that's it. (That's why you won't find many brokers around here dealing with rentals.
