I've been through that with 4 of my little buddies and it never gets any easier. So very sorry for your loss, and it is a loss. We, who love our pets, completely understand how you fee. Felicity was really beautiful and looks like she was a great cat.
The only consolation, if there is any, is that you gave her a wonderful home and life, and, in return, she gave you so much love. Just wish they could live forever.
Here are my two sweeties. I got Gracie from the SPCA in August 2015 after my 16 year old Monty passed away. Bolo came home as an 8 week old kitten about a week later. Bolo was abandoned by his mom shortly after he was born and my coworker and his wife hand fed him and his siblings. The adoption counselor at the SPCA told me that Gracie was isolated from the population because she was considered aggressive toward other cats. I told them I may need to bring her back because I had already committed myself to taking Bolo; but that I'd give it a shot.
Needless to say.
TV time...
Bolo wants to play time....
BFF's all the time.....

Yours is a good example of why an adopter shouldn't put too much stock in evaluations/opinions on cat behavior while they are in the shelter. It's simply an environment (in many cases) that puts stress on a cat and brings out negative behavior. It often has the effect of keeping them un-adopted for longer periods of time... needlessly. Many rescue organizations are setting up their shelter areas in a more home-like manner now, and it's making a huge difference in how the cats react to potential adopters.
Glad you took a chance on Gracie. She, and Bolo, are no doubt exactly where they were meant to be.
And a fine looking pair they are, too.
My beautiful little Angel Felicity died yesterday and took part of my heart with her.
Will never forget her.
My heart goes out to you! She will never be gone!
