So funny you call him a House Panther. We found Jingles in an empty lot in FL and we tease that she probably has some Florida Panther in her. . What a wonderful cat you have, Stormy sounds like an ideal pet! I love his name. I had all these great black cat names like Sambuca picked out for her. My four year old granddaughter came to see her as soon as she heard we found a kitty and bonded with Jingles right away. I probably don't have to tell you who named her and what time of year it was when we found her.
Jingles is feisty and loves to play, but it's all soft paws. My friend came over to see me when we got back from FL. She's loves animals and I'm suspicious she came to meet Jingles more than to see me. She was not disappointed. Jingles came tearing down the stairs, ran across the room to the sofa, jumped up on my friends lap and went nose to nose with her. My friend laughed in delight, that was some introduction!
At the time, and for a few years following, my wife was on a weather-related naming kick. The female I mentioned in my other post who attached herself to Stormy was named Rainbow. She was 2 -1/2 years younger than he was and was so bonded to him that we dreaded that he would pass away before she did and she would die of a broken heart. Didn't happen though, as Rainbow ran for the Bridge last year at 13 years old. She was the Alpha female around here, and didn't put up with any foolishness from the other cats.... except for Stormy. She was complete mush in his paws. Really miss that grumpy old cat.
