FYI, Pravda is now right wing and very anti-Marxist although it's run by the same people.

Also, the LA Times is a pretty moderate newspaper. Now if you were talking about the unabashedly liberal SF Chronicle you'd have a point.

Looks like Arnold is planning on using this vote to his advantage somehow - or maybe just way of preparing to deflect the outrage when the tough cuts are actually made:
Schwarzenegger says he's heard voters' anger - More politics- msnbc.com

My son still has his senior year in high school to finish.

I'm planning on getting out, too. Just heard this morning that CA politicians (dems) voted for more fees (can't call them "taxes", but that's what they are). They scoffed that because so few people voted, they didn't need to actually "hear" what we were saying.

This state is doomed.

Im so glad our state said "no" to the fear-mongering. Every single time a vote comes up it's the exact same scare tactic. This is the first time I recall people actually acknowledging that their fears are being manipulated.

You would think the only thing the state was funding was teachers, police, and firefighters. If the sate was so streamlined we wouldn't be in this mess.

But that's a city. Orange County went BK in the 90's. But I think a state is a different ballgame. Maybe they can exercise their right of eminent domain to nullify those union contracts for the greater good of the people. I'd like to see the legal argument on that one.
