Ah! A new link between “droves” behavior and covid19. Could the outbreak bring new droves of residents into California - as it did in this town (link) - as opposed to droves leaving as we often read?

yeah it does....if a governor declares an emergency a whole bunch of your rights are put on hold. Maybe it's not like that in the Country you came from but that's how it is here.

It would be unconstitutional if during the emergency they only stopped church services for a particular denomination but basically closing places of gathering whether a movie theater, restaurant, or a church is completely legal. If you don't believe me then prove me wrong because I'm done talking about this.

You're talking about state vs federal government rights. Federal law and constitution is known as Supreme Law. Religion is clearly listed in the 1st amendment. However it's pointless arguing about it and now will see how Louisiana case will be resolved.

I just heard in the briefing that Washington and California are doing better than they may have been because the governors jumped on the situation immediately. Great job of Governor Newsom. It's a scary time right now for all of us so it's really nice to be living in a state where this is taken very seriously.

I saw some on Banggood as well. A decent selection.

Yesterday Tony Thurmond, the state Superintendent of Public Instruction, stated that California public schools will most likely not re-open for the remainder of this academic school year. He had earlier resisted such suggestions. I hope that at least in L.A., something can be done to reach all of these missing students.

About 15,000 Los Angeles high school students are absent online and have failed to do any schoolwork while more than 40,000 have not been in daily contact with their teachers since March 16, when the coronavirus forced campus shutdowns, district officials disclosed Monday.

Those figures, the first official data on student online participation, reveal the massive challenge confronting the nation’s second-largest schools district, which is attempting an overnight transition to “distance learning” for half a million students, the vast majority from low-income families, many lacking computers and internet access.
