They would still stuff their faces with cookies and fried chicken. Fat people are fat because they eat too much not because they can't read nutrition labels. I can't believe it's come to this. "FAT PEOPLE ARE FAT BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW THAT CHOCOLATE COOKIES ARE FULL OF FAT AND SUGAR!"

Do fat people really need 100 point font to know that eating 20 Chocolate Cookies is going to be a lot of calories and a lot of sugar?

The current labels are already fine. I read them for every item I purchase. Fat people don't, that's why they are fat.
Getting old to keep having fake news posted as real.

We had some questions about California’s high-profile bill to establish a single-payer system, in which the state would foot the bill for nearly all healthcare costs of its residents. So we looked into the proposal, asking who would be covered, how it would be paid for and other basic questions about how it would work:

You asked, we answered. Here are some of our readers' questions on California's proposed single-payer plan - LA Times

I've always believed if you can't defend your position without saying something blatantly false like "Trump wants to remove food labeling!", then you're either deficient of intellect or deficient of character. Both not good places to be.

"The bill states that all California residents — those whose primary place of residence is in the state — are eligible, regardless of immigration status"

That alone shows that it cannot be paid for.

Apparently you've always believed that if you don't agree with something, you should call the source of it "fake news."

Trump wants to get rid of 'wasteful' regulations. Here's why that's of concern.

Looks as if SB 562 has no chance for this year.

California won't be passing a single-payer healthcare system any time soon

Gov. Jerry Brown, who had signaled wariness about the proposal's costs, said in a statement that Rendon "made the case that there’s clearly more work to do before anyone is in a position to vote on revamping California’s healthcare system."

"I recognize the tremendous excitement behind the measure, but basic and fundamental questions remain unanswered," Brown said.

I like the idea of a single-payer system and think California can lead the way for the rest of the nation. But we need a more solid overall plan before that happens. Then we can do what the Republicans always said should happen and answer one of their biggest complaints about Obamacare. Let the states decide and have more control! Its time to call their bluff and strawman against universal coverage. As the state with the largest economy and most forward thinking, CA can lead the way in healthcare for all. But that will take more time to get it right. The crazier Trump gets with his plans and special closed door concessions for his billionaire corporate cronies at the national level the more motivated we become as a people. We already know making insurance companies richer will not trickle down to anyone beyond their own pockets. So Trump could inadvertently be a good thing for CA encouraging us to chart our own course as far away from his backward agenda as possible.

"Some activists propose placing a single-payer initiative on the next state ballot, but this would be catastrophic."

Single payer can't happen in California. At least, not right away - LA Times
