After all dropping from 12.M to 1M does not change the 11M problem. Plus the flow has not stopped according to one of his links, just slowed, which means it is still occurring and apprehended does not address those who were not and it still supports that many are still crossing or trying to. Thank him for his support, even if he missed the facts.

"In 2013, the number of people apprehended at the United States-Mexico border was 64 percent less than 2004. "

Um, no, actually, expat. You need to read the actual links perhaps to get the full picture.

Yes, lots of illegals still here. But my point, verified by the linked information, is that it is not the "growing problem" that Madruga fears. It is a controlled problem that needs reform legislation to set right. It is not growing. Especially, the Mexican influx of illegals has come to a virtual standstill. Some still come, but at a rate equal or less than those returning to their homeland. Thus the frenetic panic of the Trumpeteers, that we Americans are on the verge of being overwhelmed by "droves and droves of illegals", is without merit.

And, btw, the articles do not address only total immigration, both legal and illegal combined. That is addressed, as well. But the reduction of illegal immigration is specifically the subject of the PEW research cited.

Meanwhile, the largest influx of immigration now comes from Asia, legally. And the largest group of illegals are persons of many nationalities who arrive legally with visas and overstay them.

You can look this stuff up before commenting. Madruga could too. But Madruga prefers to blindly follow a hate-mongering demagogue. Which is wildly hilarious especially because s/he specifies his/her "Christian values" upbringing. Seeing how Trump is a filandering cheater who viciously demeans women, racial groups, religions, disabled, veterans, and actively foments violence and torture, while lionizing materialism - um, could it get anymore hypocritical of Madruga?

Ah, Madruga, who won't "lower" him/herself to debat me on a forum - but would "in person"? As if debating in person is more elevating? Lmfao.

For those so obsessed with Americas illegal immigration issue push for a law that would
bring about an immediate death penalty for any man woman or child found to be in the USA illegally.Would that make you happy?

Nah, that would be as stupid and uncaring as an open border policy.

The "people" are inexpert at the myriad skill sets and intellect required to rationally assess the threats and opportunities that they face.

The "tiny elite", obnoxious, self-aggrandizing, self-absorbed, amoral, greedy, (etc etc etc) as they are - are also consumately skilled opportunists who seize control wherever there exists a vacuum of sane, productive, cooperative intelligence. Which is nearly everywhere in societies.

It's been 10,000 years since we came out of the caves and into hierarchical governing management systems. If "the people" were capable of doing better than the "tiny elite" they would have done so by now.

Live with it.

I can't believe I actually agree with you, but I sort of do.

In essence, what you're saying is the elite have succeeded in dividing the populace against each other so that that we don't trust or cooperate with each other and are more easily ruled over.

You're also saying people aren't capable of democracy. I disagree with that. But I will say we have been unwilling to do the work required, so we have, by default, made ourselves unfit for democracy (and I use the term 'democracy' here loosely to include all forms of democratic government). Therefore, we are ruled over by oligarchs.

And no, I will not be content to just "live with it".

Am I still a "loser" if I rent but have a 350K net worth in cash savings and various stock/bond mutual funds?

I was recently surprised to hear a friend who's always voted Democrat (and she's in her 70s) tell me she'll be voting for Trump. She said illegal immigrant drug runners have taken over her apartment complex and made life a living hell for her and others (continually breaking into her apt, management/cops won't do anything, etc.)

We can fight trillion dollar wars half way around the world, but won't defend our own borders? No insanity there.

Defending a porous border sound great but it's a bit harder to do than most people are willing to admit. Put employers in prison who hire illegals and 80% of the problem will be solved.
