I'm partial to Oak trees myself. I believe California has the largest and oldest oaks in the world as of last year. I think both were found in the San Bernadino mountains or somewhere close by.

I also think they are the most beautiful of the all the native trees.

Black Oaks are most likely one of the most important trees to wildlife in California.

That's 1,000 years older than a previously identified Palm Springs creosote bush that was thought to be the oldest plant in California, 8,000 years older than bristlecone pines and 10,000 years older than the redwoods.

One of the sequoia tree at an interesting angle in Sequoia National Park.

Canopy of the sequoia trees from Moro Rock in Sequoia National Park.

Monterey Cypress in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. They have several old stands of these trees.

Few of the coast redwood trees growing in a ravine close to Oakland Hills in Oakland, California.

In 2006, the largest branch on the General Sherman broke off.

The branch alone was larger by volume than any single tree east of the Mississippi.
