Look at some of the people on this thread ... they actually think they want the change to socialism.
TimC2462: see what I mean by Serpico? Don9 has to be a contrived persona, created to ridicule the Tea Party. No other explanation.

Hey Don, you have oft referred to Europe as "failed socialism" ... but let's start again ... name some socialist countries ... not those you call 'communist' -- we'll do that another time ... just 'socialist' for this go round ...

Well, since I'm in the same boat (regarding reps) as you are, we may as well fish and enjoy the ride!

Shouldn't this discussion be moved to a "Political" thread? It seems to have reached that limit. Heck, the next thing that will be pounced on is Michelle Obama's $2K sundress. It is all riduculous.

The United States is very resilient. We can best any foes both foreign and domestic. That is why we have elections every 4 years.

The real burning question is what is the best brew pub on the California Central Coast?

Don, you are really writing from an institution, aren't you ... wait wait wait ... no ... don't answer that ... it was rhetorical and I don't want you to think I am prying into your personal life so's I can figger out how to scr*w you outta your "lump sum" payout ... do NOT tell me which institution you are writing from. My bad for asking -- even if rhetorical.
Your a slow one ... I never said I was keeping my lump sum payout in US currency or any paper currency. That's the last think I would do.

I just want to say two words to you. Just two words: tin foil.

Yes, I lag behind your mental prowess, Don (and your command of language, too) ... except: I pointed out that should the U.S. economy fail, NO currency or investment held by any common man will have any value.

Anyway, you can worry yourself into that hole you are digging all you want. There's no collapse in sight, just as Dean Trails has also mentioned. The clusterf**k that you are witnessing is an ongoing pageant of financial and egotistical self-aggrandizement and illusionary power-manipulation ... the pageant has been playing since the advent of agriculture. It never actually changes much at all. Meanwhile, I am sailing and lounging in the tropics on the government teat, thank you very much.
