Hello! I am moving from the Black Hills area of South Dakota (Western side towards Wyoming) to Azusa, CA for graduate school. What should I know? Also, as for rentals...any recommendations? I've been scoping around, but of course price of living is about twice as high. My budget for an apartment (with a roommate) is about $700 without utilities. Suggestions?

Are you going to APU? You could try this thread for more information on Azusa: https://www.city-data.com/forum/los-a...-azusa-ca.html

APU has student housing available at reduced rates. The housing is nothing but modular homes on blocks (basically trailers, though more upscale).

Azusa's adjacent community is Glendora, which is FAR nicer. If you get a roomie, you can get an apartment there for $700 if you split costs. I think you will find Glendora much more to your liking than Azusa.

Sounds great! Thank you!

APU does not really host graduate students. I called and they said nothing was available...and they gave me a recommendation to rent a room from families....but I rather rent from someone my own age.

Thank you for the help!
