Cold Stone franchisees feel chill - MSN Money

Sad story, although I never thought you can make much money with this franchise. I love the icecream but IMo the overhead cost are too high. Fresh fruit is expensive, employees need their income and that on a $ 4.- ice cream...you have to sell a lot of ice cream and for many Americans it is very expensive to go there with a family of 4....spending aprox. $ 16.- for 4 ice creams!!, but they taste.....

Interesting. I got involved with a franchise company 2 years ago that turned so south that I ended up suing the franchise corporation and putting the whole franchisee out of business.

I guess I would sue Coldstone also if everything is true in this article. Which franchise did you have? Too bad and sad that people who work so hard to start a business are misinformed and scammed while trying to make some honest money.

I went in one time and paid more for ice cream than I ever had before and swore I would never return. I would guess they never had a chance and can't see why anyone would invest in a store.

I owned a sports franchise team. I cant give out to much more then that here because it became very public meaning that people here could look me up online..

Now one of my businesses is to consult another similar business so they can avoid being sued by someone like me.

Ours is gone, out of business. Never went there once I found out how much they costed. We have 2 very well regarded local chains in our area, so they are running against pretty stiff competition here.

Over-rated ice cream joint.

Dove bars at the store kill that place any day of the week...

I never ate there, I thought their prices were ridiculous... way, WAY overpriced for ice cream that was no different than the $4 tubs of ice creams at the grocery store... I suppose people want to feel "privileged" at wasting their money and blame everyone else for their financial hardships... I feel the same way towards all the ice cream shoppes... Baskin Robbins, etc. etc... if you want ice cream, go buy it at the grocery store... The only redeeming thing about Dairy Queen is that nobody has the "Blizzard" in the grocery store yet.... once its there, Dairy Queen is dead...
