Viera is good. Some decent shopping etc. Not far from Satellite Beach if you want the sand. And within an hour of Orlando.
I lived in most parts of brevard and prefer North Melbourne/Viera to Palm Bay or Cocoa. I do like Merritt Island, Cape Canaveral and Satellite Beach because they are close to the water and we like driving over Causeways
Tropical Trail is a nice little scenic route between Viera and Merritt Island.
