They would love to parade you around so they can say they have a "black friend". When you go out to dinner they will take you to a rib joint. They will never invite you anywhere that they can't put you on display. I am black and the people of Boulder have never been around people of color so they try so hard to accomodate your blackness that their racism and ignorance comes shining thru. Oh and don't move next door to them, all of the neighborhood kids told my kids that they are not allowed to come to our house and my kids can't come to their house because they may steal things or rape their younger sister. I moved out of New York to live and work in Boulder but left after 6 months and now live and work in Denver. I live in a predominately white conservative area of Denver and the people are much more friendly and don't start every conversation trying to tell me about how they understand the black expierience like the pseudo intellectuals in Boulder. My new neighbors just have normal conversations, my kids have lots of friends. Colorado is great but stay out of Boulder.

wow what neighborhood did you live in? None of my black friends in and around Boulder have had a similar experience. But yes, Boulder is very white.
