This woman walked out of a downtown crossing jewelery store wearing a 4k diamond bracelet:

Scumbags, but the workers in the store probably should have done a better job there as well. Being able to try on expensive jewelry in a store like that is kind of privilege as well though. Maybe stores will think twice about now.

Looks like they planned well...although the photos aren't the clearest...you can still tell these folks didn't just waltz in wearing hoodies and sweats...instead wearing a stunning blue color coat and he looks like he's wearing some sort of collared dress shirt. Maybe they wanted to give the impression they could actually afford the stuff they were trying on. If they went in wearing sweats and ragamuffin clothes, then I'm sure the clerks would have been accused of discrimination if they didn't allow the customers to try on the jewels.

Yeah the woman looks pretty well dressed. Surprised they didn't attempt to take something more expensive. 4K for a diamond bracelet these days isn't that much. I went into a mom and pop jewelry store last year near me and was looking at a 15k broach with diamonds on it. I had no intention of buying it but the clerk took it out and let me hold it. I could have easily run off with it. There was no security or cops around. Places probably should be more careful with random customers.

Eh, you’d be surprised. There were instances when I’d be handed a six figure timepiece to check out and admire after a brief chit-chat and the clerk would walk away to attend to someone else expecting me to hand it back to him once I was done.

Right, I guess they've been doing the job long enough where it would be unexpected to have someone walk off with the piece...particularly a well dressed woman. Surprise.
