Rest in Peace
I enjoyed all of his books.
He had a hard life, but made lemonade out of some pretty sour lemons.

That's sad! We saw him at the L.A. Festival of Books about three years ago! Very sad. His books were interesting and intense in some parts.

Great thoughts BWP. His books help me understand where I come from

BWP is right. He had a childhood none of us could comprehend, with 3 of his siblings dying in childhood. And he came close to dying as well. If memory serves, he barely survived typhoid.

Angela's Ashes is one of my favorite books. I'm sorry to hear he died.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I enjoyed Angela's Ashes but my favorite is 'Tis.

He was a gifted writer and his way of telling a story had me reading with an Irish brogue. He was certainly capable of plucking the old heart strings. I'm sad he's gone.

R.I.P. Mr. McCourt. I also loved his books. Angela's Ashes made me laugh and made me cry - often at the same time. A great storyteller.

Agreed. It's one I like to re-read every few years or so.

Rest in peace Mr. McCourt.
