I haven't read the 4th one yet but, anyone else hate the choice of POV characters? My favorite characters, most of them aren't POV characters, and they eventually are killed off ... blech.

I find in a lot of books (not just GoT) that non-POV characters are often the most intriguing. Probably because we're never in their head, so it's easier for them it keep us guessing.
Tyrion and Arya are more fun and engaging to read, I find.
That's because, other than the villains, Tyrion and Arya are the biggest actors in the story. And I mean "actor" as a character who acts, not just reacts. Many of the other good guys are just reacting to the actions of the bad guys. I found that especially true of Sansa, who was brought up to believe that her duty was to mind her place, and she did. Arya chose to do otherwise.
Even Ned, who was an entirely sympathetic character, was pretty much led around the nose by the bad guys.

Yes, I agree, one dimensional characters. I forget to mention, Daenerys's story is interesting only because she seems to have, so far, the only fantasy element woven into her story line.

I liked Dany a lot in the first book. After that, not so much. She's got a lot of potential, which I hope will get realized in the upcoming books.
