Hi, I have a job offer and it's right before you get to trussville. I heard the traffic on that side of 459 isn't bad at all, but I don't know who to believe. I want to live near my boyfriend b/c we stay at each others houses, but I don't want a long drive to work. I had thought about staying in trussville, but I don't want a long drive to his house. Any thoughts? I looked at the Irondale area. Is that a good area? I didn't find much for rent there. I have 2 small dogs and would love something with a fenced in yard, but my price range is up to $700 per month so I'm having a hard time. I saw a house on Old Overton RD, but unsure of that area too. Any help I would appreciate. Thanks.

Mary

Actually 459 is a really, really easy commute from the Summit and vice-versa. Personally, I think you should live closer to your boyfriend, because you can make it to Trussville in about 10 minutes along the interstate. Plus the area nearer the Summit has a lot more amenities. Trussville, while nice enough is a good distance away from the city's nightlife. You might feel as if you were on the end of the earth.

Old Overton Road is a very safe part of town, as is most of the area along 459. You probably want to visit the city before making any decisions.

Cool Thank you!

Ok so if I'm staying in the 280 area, am I going to be able to find anything for under $700 with a fence? I've looked online at several apartments in the Cahaba River area. I found one in Vestavia (Vestavia park) but it may be too far from the summit and work. They said I could put up a fence. I would like to avoid 280 at all cost. lol I would prefer a 2 bedroom, and like I said before I do have 2 small dogs.

The Summit area is great. It's where I live. And you're right. Traffic on 459 is easy and the rents will be lower over there. Good luck.
