They can't accept non-USDA processed meat. Even if you give it to them, they can't accept it. I'm not even sure if they can accept home grown vegetables. The whole "food safety" issue might keep people from getting sick (which is it's purported purpose) however, it also pretty much means everyone is absolutely dependent on food processors. I suspect the big food processors (there actually aren't that many of them) have been sending folks to congress to get bills passed favoring them.
