Unsafe lane changing is responsible for a lot of extra braking as well.

Yes, the lane changing and brake brake is a Maryland concept, since everyone is in a rush. Other states people slow down behind a car that is turning. But nothing is more horrific when cars cut you off at high speeds, just to be in front of you at a red light.

It's my biggest pet peeve of the Baltimore region. That and the insanely apathetic customer service.
I feel the exact same way about the back roads. When I go up to Hanover PA It can take between just over an hour to an hour and a half, depending on whether I get stuck behind a slow poke. All the roads are one lane each direction up around Manchester and Hampstead, and into Pennsylvania.

The one thing I like about that area though, is the traffic circles. We could use more of them around here, and not just the "fake" ones that are really just two way stops.

BALTIMORE, try to stop braking today!
THANKS
I grew up in South Florida, and I never thought I'd live to see the day that Miami drivers are considered better than ANYONE who is not high on crack or legally dead.

Right they drive too fast when conditions are bad and too slow when they are favorable.. I remember driving down a hill in the County and the road was icy. I was in a low gear and some idiot came up behind me and was riding on my bumper.> I was like if I brake you will slide right into me Of course the SOB was in an SUV that had 4 wheel drive.. but that doesnt make you invincible.

I have seen folks flying down I-95. I thought a car was towing another one but that is just how close they were tailgating them.....going down the road at 100 mph...SMH
