The Mil Mi-10 (NATO reporting name Harke), given the product number izdeliye 60, was a Soviet military transport helicopter of flying crane configuration, developed from the Mi-6, entering service in 1963.
I watched one similar like that (but seemed shorter?), even the same colors and from Russia, used to fight some fires, carried a large bucket underneath it.
I have a book of planes and helicopters that I have had since my teen years, and this appears in it. I've always been fascinated by Soviet airplanes and helicopters.
The motivation of building this giant is interesting: Soviets designed it to carry nuclear missiles to and from Siberia. There are no roads, nor runways on many of these endless plains.
