I now only let the deal do any work or additions to my car. And I recommend that to anyone I know. Most people say they can't afford it.
Years ago I didn't want to pay the dealer price for the car alarm option. You'd think that was simple enough. So, in less than a week I went to Circuit City (that alone tells you how long ago it was
![Smile](https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
) Well, after that install when it rained I got water in the driver's side foot well.
So I went back to the dealer. They looked at it and asked, "did you have someone else stall something on the car?" I responded, "yeah, an alarm system." He said well, "when they put it in they left the roof drainage tube pointing back into the car instead of out and down outside. So I guess you'd better take it back to them to fix."
I told Circuit City what the dealer said, "Oh, they said that." I said, "yeah and the car is only a week old, it's rained in that time and there was no water in the foot well before I brought it here, and you guys are the only people who've touched my car." They said, "they'd look at it."
Well, they fixed it. They didn't exactly hesitate to fix it. But there an ever so slight bit of "well let's see." This example, just that little back-and-forth about who did what, and who caused what problem was enough for me I remember when I was a kid my parents would sometimes take the car to various places for various work. And sometimes, the paces would blame each other for the problem. Well, the other guy didn't change the filter. That place left off a piece. The other guy this or that. I don't have the patience for that. So.....
....the dealer is the only place that touches my car. So I know exactly who to talk to and who's desk to sit on when there's "an issue to discuss." You guys are the only place that has touched y car, so you better figure it out. In more than 20 years of only having Acura touch my car, I can't remember once having to go back because a job wasn't done correctly.
