Not actually answering your question, but, having lived in the Denver area, I think you would be better served by a set of Blizzaks or similar. Studs mostly help on ice, you don't get that much ice, but you do get a lot of good, fluffy, dry snow. (Which I sorta miss, sometimes)
If you are going to keep whatever you are driving for several more years, and have room to store off-season tires, you are better off getting 4 (preferably factory) steel wheels and putting your winter tires on them, then just change the wheel/tire assemblies seasonally.
