Does anyone have any experience with aftermarket wood grain kits? I am looking at some. My mechanics states that they are basically not the best looking nor will it hold up that well.

I have a 2008 Toyota Camry Hybrid and there is no factory option for the vehicle.

I saw this photo online and I think it looks really nice. In fact its the same interior color of my own car.

So here are my questions:

1. Anyone with any experience with wood grain kits that are positive or negative?

2. Do you have a brand that you would recommend?

3. Anyone know which kit this is (brand name and type)?

Thanks in advance for your help and input!

George

Contact Mandy at Southside Trim (I can't remember the number, have to look it up).

They have different kits and do a great job.

Edit - A good kit with real wood that actually looks decent will run about $600 - $700.

Most of these kits are cheap and look like crap in person. Unless you take it to a pro and plan to spend well into the hundreds, leave it alone IMO.

The high quality kits can look better than factory materials and are used by some dealers to upgrade cars just as aftermarket leather interiors are used.

The only issue I have seen is that areas exposed to regular sunlight can after many years discolor because of the glue used to fasten the wood.

I don't mind spending some money for something that will last and actually look good. I just don't want to waste it on something that I will eventually regret.
