Saying it's not American is BS too. That's like saying my Corvette is not American, because it has a German transmission, or Toyota is American, because it was made here.
If the Venom is so American, then why does it have to be registered/titled as a Lotus(A foreign car)? and not as a Hennessey? Could it be because it IS a Lotus with some American engineering and a big American V8 "under the hood"

If you chose to fault me for patriotism so be it, you have that right. People spit on American soldiers coming back from Vietnam too.
Please don't insult the Corvette by comparing it to a kit car put together by a tuner of debatable repute. Corvette was designed from the ground up in the US by a US company employing US residents(*) to both design and assemble the vehicle primarily for the US market. It does have some foreign sourced parts, but unlike the Venom, the vehicle itself was designed around said parts and manufactured with their use in mind, here in the US.
(*)I didn't say citizens because I have a friend who's a mechanical engineer that works for GM on anti-lock braking system design and he's here on a work visa.
The Venom is a Lotus Exige, designed and manufactured in a foreign country by foreign workers to house a Japanese motor from Toyota/Yamaha. Some good ol' boys in Texas decided it would be fun to take a big GM engine they didn't design or build, swap out some of the internals for strength just like any tuner can do, bolt on some turbo's they didn't design or build and then stuff that big ol' thing up the Exige's behind. All that's left is to give one to Steven Tyler from Aerosmith so you can advertise he "designed" the audio system, find someone *smart* enough to pilot it at 270 mph, call it a 'production vehicle' and then brag about beating a world record.
Underground Racing does the exact same thing with Lamborghini Gallardo's, but they don't pretend to be a car manufacturer.
I have absolutely no idea what this has to do with Vietnam but you continue to amaze me.
the top speed p*****g contest. the British created it, and then let the Americans and Germans fight over it LOL. what a sham.
As for the the Hennessey, what a load of BS. Are Americans that desperate to "beat" the germans that they'd accept a half breed put together in Silverstone, made by a crook, and be proud of it ?? i mean they registered as Lotus Exige's even after the full dress up !.. the SSC Ultimate Aero is something to be proud of. SRT Viper, Corvette, Mustang, Mosler.. all-american legends.. they are something to be proud of. This Venom, on the other hand, is a joke and the crook is charging $1 million for it.

I'm all for top speed records (particularly in legitimate production cars) because they appeal to two different kinds of people, those who can afford it (not me) and/or those who genuinely appreciate the design/engineering that goes into making this possible reliably.
The second part of your statement, I whole heartedly agree with.
LOL I just had to add this persons response with regards to me saying I would take the Bugatti Veyron over this car for obvious reasons:
"Sure - but will your Bugatti have the beauty, honor and prestige that goes with being a stretched out,15-foot-long Lotus Exige that's been heavily turbocharged and violated by a team of Texans? Nope."

I wonder how many Texans died for you too have the right to bad mouth them?
"Hennessey manufactures the power plants at its facility in Sealy, Texas. The engines are then air freighted to the company's assembly facility near Silverstone, England where the Venom GT is built and tested."
Yeah, I'd say you did disrespect Americans from Texas, and especially those who died for your rights. Engage brain before opening mouth.
