In all seriousness, you can probably work out a trade for someone in a neighboring state to get a 75 or earlier car that's about the same in condition.
Spitfire.... had a great TR4a during high School. Sold it to a friend and it was stolen out of his driveway the day he was headed off to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo... was all packed and gone!
Also had a 68 Spitfire for a couple of years... someone flagged me over and wanted to buy it and he was serious... had one like it new and wanted another one... sold.
My boss boss bought a TR7 and spend a bundle keeping it going... everything at the Dealer.
There are many states without. It's less and less necessary as cars run better and cleaner than ever for longer than ever, but I guess its good that some places do it. Otherwise, manufacturers would probably find ways to cheat or make the pollution control systems cheaper and less durable.
