i recall when GM did it's downsizing program for the 1977 model year for it's full sized cars, those new cars were getting significantly better mpg's than their predecessors
was it true that by either 1978 or 1980 all cars had to get at least 18 mpg as per the EPA? i seem to recall 18 mpg being the magic standard around that time

Agreed. I am more of a fan of the 71-76 models, but this '77 is a very nice car and interestingly optioned. It has all options except power seat, power windows and the 3rd row seat.
