The Nova name or the look? They can bend sheet metal anyway they want for the look. Remember the thread a couple years ago asking about a Chevette comeback? That guy wanted not just the look but the mechanicals, too.
About the Camaro. I had the same thought about it likely being a POS until I drove my friend's new SS. Not admitting anything but that car will scream down the road. Decent handling, some cool features that you can live without. Overall my opinion changed.
Now the Chevette returns as a hot hatch with the same ecotec the camaro has, and a SS/Monza version with a turbo, give it the same guage setup as the Spark and a six speed manual, low frills car.
They won't bring it back, CAFE is pretty much killing any chance of large RWD cars being mainstream again. Current standards may go up to 56+ MPG combined for cars and trucks by 2025. Out of everything they could bring back, the most likely would be the Caprice nameplate. They are currently using the G8's platform in the Caprice police car and it wouldn't be a huge jump to make a civilian version, but most likely won't happen.
GM brought back the Impala, Malibu and the Monte Carlo. Chrysler brought back the Dart. None worked. Nova doesn't mean anything to 90% of buyers. Even at its heyday it wasn't much of a anything. They should stop looking to the past. Most of the time they ruin the name anyway.
The Malibu is the only one brought back after completly dissapearing in the 90s after the demise of the Boxy B body to return in the late 90s as the Malibu Classic and then the Malibu Maxx. The Monte and Impala never stopped production.

The Dart didn't do much, but the resurrected Impala, Malibu, and Monte were all good sellers.

Incorrect. The Monte Carlo wasn't produced between 1989 and 1994, and there were two periods where no Impalas were produced, 1986-1993 and 1997-1999.
