Wish they'd (all automakers) spend some time on ergonomics and less time with style. How many dashboard buttons does the Honda accord need? 20? 30? Does a seatbelt buckle really need to rub into the occupant's hip bone? Does the radio controls need to be so far away from the driver? Did you design the driver's arm rest only for tall people or only for short people? Why is the instruments cluster situated for the maximum amount of glare reflection? Why are the front speakers aiming sound at my calves? There are no ears in my calves. Why have a split fold rear seat if you have shoulder belts pulling the seats back up? How does the seat work for a short person (my wife is 4' 11") and a tall person. My wife passed on some good vehicles because of her height and bad driver's seating position. She's in a 2007 Chrysler Sebring because the driver's seat fits her body without compromising her safety.
I love the Buick Veranos interior. I do hope though that they offer that soft blue ambient lighting to the footwells too and not only the console and door panels. I would feel like I was tipping forward if they didnt put it in the floor too.
I also say Ford over the past couple of years. The interior has a more pleasing look and the instrument clusters are getting good and attractive lighting and they offer ambient lighting on all of their vehicles (optional on some) and have up to 7 different light colors to select from. I never thought much of it until a Ford Edge I had rented had it and I loved driving it at night... its so soothing. I dont know yet of any car make that offers it on ALL of their vehicles other than Ford, but Buick, Chevy, Honda and Nissan offer it now on a few models, I am sure more will follow very soon.
I see them everyday so I'd say they fit the definition. A large portion of the population can afford to own one either new or used as compared to Ferrari's, Bentley's, Rolls and other exotics which are prohibitively expensive to own even when used.
Audi has the best interiors as far as everyday brands are concerned.
Well an everyday brand is basically includes all except super-exotics (Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc) as well as the super-luxurious (Bentley, Rolls-Royce, etc).
It really almost has to be broken down even farther into price categories, a $100k Mercedes-Benz S550 has a damn nice interior and could still be considered an everyday brand but is off the price charts for most buyers.
In my opinion, vehicles under $20K:
Mazda 6 Sport
Under $30K:
Buick Regal Turbo
Under $40K:
Buick Lacrosse CXS
Ford Taurus SHO
Under $50K:
Cadillac CTS
Audi A6:
Under $75K:
BMW 550i

Under $100K:
