Yeah even with all the attention he got today, he had his usual non eventful race finishing 11th. Over rated driver no career wins and 22nd in standings this year.
Good win for MTJ last night in Martinsville under the lights, he really needed that one! I thought for sure after the penalty he wouldn't get back up near the front but man was I wrong. I was hoping for a better showing from the other JGR cars though. Kyle is definitely itching for a win. He is my pick to win in Miami on Sunday. And wow those Penske cars were fast! Joey was looking like he was going to lap the whole field by the end of the first stage if not for the caution.
And I don't know about you guys but I'm really enjoying these mid-week races. I know its not ideal for the local economies around the tracks and I'm sure its tough on the drivers/teams. But as a fan watching from home I really enjoy it. I wouldn't mind seeing a few mid week races going forward to shorten the season down a bit but still get plenty of races in. Even 3 mid week races would end the season mid October. Maybe do Phoenix and a mid week auto club, Darlington/Martinsville, and then a Texas/Kansas. Then just rotate tracks every season so nobody is cheated out of a full race weekend.
I don't like Bubba Wallace. I really don't like him. I really really don't like him.
I liked him...always respectful and well spoken. Thought he was good for the sport. But now with his support of the false narrative, he's pretty much a nobody to me. Bye-bye Bubba.
Another strong outing by JGR on Sunday in Miami, this time by Denny Hamlin who got his 40th career victory. There were 2 Xfinity races this weekend. Gragson seemed to be the dominate car in both races but late race cautions took his lead away, Burton and Briscoe get the wins. Kyle Busch gets another truck win but as yet to win a cup race so far this season. On to Dega next weekend!
All Star Race at Bristol. Only the second time ever it's been run somewhere other than Charlotte.
Think I would have preferred somewhere maybe like Richmond, but.. Is what it is.
