Lots of talk (from Matchett and Hobbes) about how terrible the grid penalties for various engine/power/transmission replacements, but I am not sure what the choice is. The high dollar teams will simply have a new power unit/transmission each race. The lower teams (ie: most of the field) just can't afford that. If the idea is, indeed, to keep costs down, then the penalties have to stay as they are.
Reasonably good race, some fairly bad camera work, cutting away from things that matter to things that don't. Really awful driver intro thing with the pro wrestling announcer (I think that was who he was, who just slaughtered name pronunciations, despite his yellow-marked up index cards).
Bad things have to happen to Hamilton for Vettel to take this year's championship - and I never root for bad things to happen, even to drivers I don't like, and I kinda like Vettel, although he has gotten astonishingly whiny on the radio this year.
NASCAR veteran Andy Petree will assist Richard Childress Racing in an advisory role in the competition area. Petree, who has held numerous roles in his 30-year stock car racing career, will be retained as an outside resource. Petree has experience as a championship-winning crew chief, driver, team owner and most recently, as an analyst for Fox Sports.

NASCAR at one time allowed a complete engine, transmission change after qualifying. In F1 that would get into serious money. Of course, based on this Sunday's results, may be some one will be brave enough to try a new engine for the race and then just motor on up through the field! I could see a ploy like that for the championship at the last race of the year.
