Nascar is all about drama, its not a sport anymore. Its all about merchandise, commercials and propaganda
what percentage of the average NASCAR Sprint cup broadcast is commercials? about half I guess. You are literally not watching a sport anymore, you're watching a broadcast with just enough racing in it so you watch all their commercials.

While it is less than most sports, I would say it is similar to say wrestling where you have 10-12 minutes of coverage for 3 minutes of commericals. The only thing is with cautions it changes it. This year with more side by side coverage during green flag laps and later cautions, it is getting better. However NASCAR will never be like football, hockey or basketball where you can shoe-horn commericals during a break because NASCAR is 3 hours of racing action.
I just want to say when the day comes that my husband will no longer be with us every item we own that has anything to do with NASCAR will be in the dump--happy hunting!

Perhaps you should sell the stuff and use the funds for counseling because this obviously bothers you.
I thought about that--but decided to dump it asap after my DH passes. His kids can come and get it if they want to but I seriously do not want to see anything having to do with car racing in my home in my future! And yes, counseling is a great idea-- but need to come up with the funds to do it. I have found a place that will help--even if I am not rich! Imagine that! Anyhow, you are right on, I desperately need therapy--desperately but the stuff here will not fund that--I would not want that. I will figure out a way to get the help I need and find a place to properly dump the racing stuff. There is a lot of priceless items in his things--but to me they mean nothing!
Also as long as he is here these are "his" precious items so they will stay in their special places for now! I would never never try to take any of his personal items and do anything as long as he is here to enjoy them. I am not a mean bad person I am just very disappointed in the people in NASCAR and how they treat the people that got them where they are. I honestly think my DH deserves more.....

You are allowed your opinion! I do not want attention for me but I sure would love some of those guys my husband helped get into NASCAR give my husband a little attention! But it is what it is....things change...times have changed. Sorry to make you think it was about "me" when it never was meant to be. Guess we kind of got off the subject on the last post regarding therapy--sorry!
I just don't see why you would bring up a thread that was last posted in two months ago just two say you're getting rid of your NASCAR stuff when your husband dies.
Good question! Just getting it off my chest I guess. Going along with the original reason I started this thread--my disappointment in the loss of roots in NASCAR. But this thread has run it's course and probably needs to be retired.......
