Nice win by Hamlin at Phoenix. Watched the race from start to finish. I'm trying to get myself to like the sport after enjoying the Daytona. It's hard to ignore Fox and NASCAR's constant promotion of every imaginable commercial product - most obvious what their in-car interview of Carl Edwards who promoted Subway, and Chris Meyer and Michael Waltrip having Subway sandwiches on their console while on camera. I guess there's no getting around the commercialism needed to support the sport. Too much commercialism hype, imo - takes away from the sport.

spot-on and the Subway thing I find particularly annoying,
this response brought to you following a delicious Sausage, Egg and Cheese McMuffin Sandwich from the fine folks at Mcdonalds.
I'm thinking about going to the Coke 400 in July in Daytona. Probably going to be hotter than hell though, in July.
Anyone with thoughts about this race? Is it worth going? Probably will have to pay $60-100/tix for a rotten seat.
For $100 you should get a decent seat. I was last there in '95. The race was held in the daytime, it was over 95 degrees and we sat in the towers just going into the trioval. It was worth every penny. I've sat in the Weatherly and Roberts Towers and they were good seats. My experience probably isn't all that relevant, but I will say this:
If you are a racing fan, you owe it to yourself to take in a race there. I'm pretty passionate about the sport on variety of levels - NASCAR Sprint Cup is only one form of it. But, when I walked in there the first time, went under the stands in the tri-oval and saw "D A Y T O N A" on the wall in Turn 4, I was in awe of the place.
You need to go - if only once.
