Unless something changes I'll probably be going to this year's Daytona 500. I want to see Jeff Gordon race in one 500 so I can cross it off my bucket list. I have heard the nightmares about how expensive it is? I know the tix I got suck and are way overpriced. I have heard there's no parking at the track and what little there might be costs about 50 bucks and up? I'd be interested to see if anyone can offer any advice? Thanks!

I went to one Daytona 500 back in 1987 and my favorite driver (Bill Elliott) won by almost a lap over the field. It was exciting at the time but thinking about it now it really was a boring race. Especially for my wife and six year old son.

I now prefer Charlotte where you are closer to the action and certainly closer to home.

So my advice is to go to Daytona to see JG and then cross it off your bucket list.

I have no idea about parking at Daytona it was free back in 87. I paid $60. for top row grandstand tickets back then.

Back then I had to promise a week at WDW so I could get one day at Daytona.

Went in 2010 there is a remote free shuttle lot coming in is great, leaving you will wait 2 hours we did that for the shootout. For Sunday's race we paid 20 bucks and parked in a strip mall parking lot by Outback Steakhouse. About a 20 minute walk and was totally worth it.

There is a free parking lot but it is a good distance from the track but has a shuttle.

I don't think tix are that expensive, especially on the backstretch.. ~$40.. plus kids under 12 are half price.

All you got was one day for an entire week at WDW? I would ask for at least a month for THAT! LOL

I looked at the Daytona site first before I did anything else, thank you!

I'd pay 20 bucks for a 20 minute walk in a New York minute. That's what I'm looking for, thanks!

I'm on the front stretch and my ticket was a 110.00 for row FIVE! Terrible seats! I can sit in the tower at Dega and see the entire track for 125.00. That's why it's going to be a one time trip. A been there, done that type thing...

yes, 110 is heavy for that low... I think mine ~80. I am on the backstretch up real high..
