I believe I was told that there is a rule against 'circumvention of traffic controls', but I am not sure that would apply here, since you are actually going through the light, not around it. Usually used to stop people from cutting through gas stations to avoid having to wait to get to the light to turn right, but I have heard it has been applied to people getting ON the highway, then staying in the acceleration lane and getting right back OFF. This gets you around the light on the frontage road.

Unhappy $$$

It just so happens my wife got this in her inbox from a friend, although it does have all the looks of a spoof email, is it possibly true, anybody?
I checked snopes and they had no reference of it..

Ummm...don't think this is true, 'cause I think we would have heard about the cell phone stuff, and there are no laws regarding cell phones right now. It is possible this was proposed (or some version of it) in the legislature and not passed or acted on. That sometimes gets lots of attention, even though there is no shot of it passing.

DUI does equal jail, but not usually on the first offense. (I'm speaking on longer jail terms), and you will get ticketed for no seat belt. Passengers and drivers alike. A first offense DUI will get you a breathalizer in your car. I know this stuff because my husband has a friend who, like an idiot, hasn't learned his lesson and just got out of jail after abt. 3 yrs. for a 3rd DWI. and one of my neighbors has a breathalizer after 1 DUI.

I think I saw that 1st dui with a minor under 12 or 13 does get you jail time.
