Will all the land between Round Rock and Georgetown be developed eventually? Just curious to know how far north Round Rock is expected to expand.

I thought it was already developed? I sure don't sense a big empty transition area like there was 20 years ago... seems like (at least from I-35) they are contiguous.

It may appear that way from I35, but with the exception of Teravista on the right and Mayfield Ranch on the left, there's still a lot of open land up there.

The economy, roads and utility service will determine growth, but it's hard to imagine that in 20 to 30 years we won't have a solid continuous metro area stretching 100 miles from San Antonio past Georgetown.

The area you ask about is part of the "I-35 corridor", and it will be fully developed barring any "buy and preserve" efforts. None of it is sensitive land though, so it's ripe for future growth.

I'm pretty sure Round Rock ends at Westinghouse, so as RR won't have much, if any, growth north. Teravista and the outlets are pretty much at the north boundary.

I was in the "Candle Factory" which is on that stretch of land a couple months ago and the owner said the land that they were leasing was sold to a developer and they weren't sure what was going to happen. I just looked at the Candle Factory website and it states that they are closed for relocation. It's a guess, but I would bet the area right around the Candle Factory will soon be developed.

Rumor has it that the rock quarry on 1431/I-35 will become a lake, in future... who knows if this is true or not, but thought I would share.
