Hey All,

I am wondering if anyone knows a coffee shop around central Austin that is a good place to start a conversation and meet open minded people.

I've never tried socializing with strangers as a goal at coffeehouses, but I'd guess these are some good choices:
* Austin Java on Barton Springs Rd.
* The Spiderhouse (near 29th and Guadalupe on a side street)
* Little City on Congress near the capitol building
* Clementine's on Manor Rd. near Eastside Cafe and Hoover's
* Mojo's Coffeespace on Guadalupe near 28th (not sure if they're still around)
* Joe's (or Jo's) on South Congress, worst espresso drinks in town but great social scene outdoors
* Whole Foods downtown --- it's a social place in general and they have a coffee/pastry area
* Mozart's on Lake Austin Blvd. near the Hula Hut

I guess it depends on what you mean by "open-minded". Sometimes that's code for things that I wouldn't know about.

Thanks for the list. I guess by open mined I mean "not staring at a laptop".
