Awesome!

And a 5k is 3.1 miles. You can absolutely walk it if you need to.You have plenty of time to train. Three days a week and better yet, find a running group to join. Most running stores have them, I belong to the Twin Lakes Ymca group. helps with motivation.

There's a group of women here in Hutto that have a running group. Right now they are training for the Zooma Race and a few of them are training for the Danskin, both of which are out of my league. There are a few ladies in the group who have about as much stamina as I do, so maybe I could hook up with them for practice runs. Thanks for the tip

The Zooma race has a 5k too. A couple of my friends will be doing the half but a few others will be doing the 5k.

We got worn out just watching you guys, and now one of my runner friends who's never done a marathon or any race for that matter, got all inspired today and now wants to do the Capital 10k. She wants me and one of the other girl scout moms to run it with her. I told her I didn't think I could since I haven't even run a 5k before. She thinks if I get in enough practice runs that I can, and that I can definitely walk/run. She's already planning practice runs. Any opinions? Can an almost couch potato attempt a 10k? : )
