Best Italian: Scalini's in Smyrna.

Best Desserts: Marietta Diner

Best Pizza: Fortunato's in south Smyrna or Bella's (either Austell or Smyrna)

Best ribs: Olde Mill Steakhouse by the Cumberland Mall. Yum!!

I also like Garrison's in Vinings and Copeland's New Orleans Grill for various reasons, and the Vinings Grill in Smyrna has some tasty stuff (their Chicken Parmigan is very good).

Dominicks - Lawrenceville
Mary Mac's Tea Room - Ponce De Leon L'anta

Now the next question:
Does anyone serve breakfast in this state outside of Waffle House IHOP and Huddle House? Looking for good Breakfast, not crud

down south diva,

Check out C'est Bon on Panola Road in Lithonia, Pappadeaux at Cumberland, or Red Snapper on Memorial Drive near Cabbagetown.

If you are willing to drive into the city R Thomas, West Egg Cafe or the Flying Biscuit are my favorites.

Italian: veni vidi vici on 14th, or the hidden and tucked away but large fratelli di napoli off of peachtree just after crossing over 85 going north. fratelli di napoli is like maggiano's (family style 5 course + alcohol) but better, more original, and more expensive.

Sushi: MF Sushi Bar on Ponce close to downtown.

Has anyone been to Capital Grille, there is one opening soon near me in Jacksonville and I was wondering if it was good. Same with J. Alexander's and McCormick and Schmick's (if anyone has been to those as well).

Also I have heard good things about the Tavern at Phipps in Phipps. Is this true? Always looks busy at night. Also Houlihan's is surprisingly good and inexpensive! It is in Midtown, but there is one up near Marietta as well (on Johnson Ferry maybe?).

Breakfast...there are zillions of places (of widely varying quality) to get breakfast in Atlanta.

Ria's Bluebird
Gato Bizco
Flying Biscuit
Java Jive
Thumbs UP
The Earl (on weekends, possibly only on Sunday)
Radial Cafe
Matthew's Cafeteria
Landmark Diner
Crescent Moon

etc.

JPD,

Crescent Moon is awesome. Don't list too many breakfast places, the wait to get a table on a Sunday morning is long enough.
