Having gone to McIntosh, I do not think it is all it is made out to be. I needed extra attention with math and science and the department there left a lot to be desired (many classes were taught be coaches). Found many of the students to be very cliquish as well and had a snobby attitude to them. Not much to do for teenagers there either (I grew up as a teen in PTC) No movie theaters or bowling ally's nearby (mainly golf courses).

Woodland High School

Why would they "close" the school?

The school on that side is Northgate. Northgate is academically considered better than East Coweta. I think East Coweta is considered the worst of the high schools in Newnan, but I dont know spec, just from what I have heard. The schools are considered better in Fayette, actually the best in the state. But are VERY Clickish. A lot of the homes in peachtree city are $1 million+ and unfortunately comes with the associated sterotypes. Someone told me that peachtree city has one of the highest teen suicide rates in the state. Keep in mind I have only lived in Newnan for about a year and this is all what other people have told me that have grown up in the area.

Nevertheless, all 3 Coweta County high schools are good.

Thanks for your input - those boundary links especially!
Do you have an idea of the time of commute from East Cobb vs. the southern areas like East Coweta, McIntosh and Northgate? We are moving from Northern Virginia, so my kids are used to activity - movies, shopping & restaurants, & jobs close by. Is the golf cart community that big of deal?
Ungodly. It will break you down worse than the military can! I jest of course, but I don't think it would be a great commute if you do the traditional 9-5.

I'm assuming you're talking about the East Cobb-Ft. McPherson commute, correct?

Well, I went to google, typed "school digger" and up came Schooldigger.com -- Search and compare elementary, middle, and high schools.. Your question must have had some purpose besides figuring out how to do this, aries. The site seems to be connected with real estate sales.
