I have recently moved to Henry County and I am looking for a good African American church near or around Locust Grove. I know about the mega churches all around Atlanta (Long,Dollar etc)...Been there and done that...NOT INTERESTED. I use to be a member of New Birth before I moved from Atlanta nearly 8 years ago. I would prefer a congregation no larger than a thousand members. It can be baptist or non-denom.. Are there any in Hampton, Locust Grove, Mc Donough or Stockbridge?

There are tons of churches in Locust Grove, but I'm not sure if any of them are African-American. You'll probably have to go up to Stockbridge, there's an AME church up there called Knights Monumental, and a few others in that area I believe

I would even be interested in a mixed congregation. Any good churches that are family oriented. I have seven children under 11 years old so I don't want to have to travel an hour to get to church, an hour to get out of the parking lot and an hour to get back home.

There is a church called Heritage Baptist Church at 1843 Peeksville Rd. They are a mixture of different nationalities. But they preach and teach the Bible and have great singing.

Check out Community Bible Church in Stocbridge, GA. Nondemoninational - Great church! Check them out online at www.cbcwebcampus.com; the church has a great childrens ministry too.
