Default Peachtree Corners opens new pedestrian bridge over GA-141 P’tree Parkway

This past week, the City of Peachtree Corners opened a new pedestrian bridge over Georgia State Route 141/Peachtree Parkway between The Forum on Peachtree Parkway shopping center, on the west side of the road, and the new Peachtree Corners Town Center mixed-use development, on the east side of the road.

The pedestrian bridge was constructed in a thrust arch style to look like the erstwhile historic Jones Bridge that once crossed over the Chattahoochee River between what are now the cities of Peachtree Corners (in southwest Gwinnett County) and Johns Creek (in North Fulton County).

Default Uncle Jack’s Meat House restaurant to open new location in Peachtree Corners

Uncle Jack’s Meat House restaurant is slated to open its newest location to the public in the new Peachtree Corners Town Center development on Wednesday.

The Peachtree Corners’ location will be Uncle Jack’s Meat House’s third location.

The restaurant already has two locations in Roswell and Duluth and plans to open an Uncle Jack’s Tavern location in downtown Lawrenceville’s SouthLawn development.

Quote:
For the time being, the new Uncle Jack’s location will serve dinner crowds on a reservations only basis. Degel said the COVID-19 pandemic has made it difficult to get a full staff so sticking to reservations only for now will help them be able to ensure they can provide quality service...

... The new restaurant is located in Peachtree Corners’ Town Center, and is adjacent to that development’s parking deck. It can seat 225 diners and features indoor and patio dining areas.

A 1980s office park in Peachtree Corners is being eyed for redevelopment into a mixed-use project.

Alliance Residential Co. proposed adding a mix of townhomes, multi-family, and commercial uses to the 9-acre office park located just north of Engineering Drive on the eastern side of Peachtree Parkway, also known as 5720 and 5672 Peachtree Parkway, according to a rezoning request filed with the city.

Given the big hit that the commercial office market has taken due to the pandemic and the resulting large-scale work-from-home movement that it has generated, we should probably expect more suburban office parks go in the direction of moving to retrofit their properties with mixed-use development.
