Democrat Jon Ossoff and Republican Karen Handel are separated by less than two points in a poll released Thursday by WSB-TV, the latest survey showing the June 20 runoff for Georgia’s 6th District is going to be a nail-biter.

The poll showed Ossoff leading Handel 49.1-47.6, well within the poll’s 4 percent margin of error.

Ossoff leads Handel by a nearly 2-1 margin among voters under 39 and has a sizable edge in the 40-64 age bloc. That advantage is reversed with voters over 65, the most reliable voting bloc.
Man, the Republicans are flat throwing everything they've got into this one.

I'm enjoying the commercials. I chuckle at all the ones about Karen H. running for numerous jobs and never winning.

I see, John O. has a new one with older black lady in Marietta.

Pretty much, this is his election to lose.

Default "High-stakes Georgia race puts pressure on Dems" (The Hill)

Lisa Hagen of "The Hill" magazine writes that the Georgia 6th Congressional District Special Election runoff is an extremely high-stakes affair for Democrats as it is the last chance for Dems and progressives to use a special election as proof of a supposedly brewing backlash to Donald Trump's unpredictable, controversial and chaotic early presidency.

From "The Hill" magazine:
Quote:
Democrats are under pressure to pull off a win in Georgia's open House race, seeing it as their last chance to use a special election as proof of a brewing backlash to President Trump.

The party has pointed to closer-than-expected races in what had been reliably red districts as evidence of rising voter enthusiasm on the left. But Democrats have so far failed to convert that energy into an actual win in this year's special elections.

Liberal grassroots groups are frustrated by national Democrats decision to spend comparatively small amounts in Kansas and Montana races, opting instead to pour money into the Georgia election - now the most expensive House race in history. That ramps up the pressure even higher for Democrat Jon Ossoff to pull off a win on June 20.

"We need this win in Georgia 6 because if Jon Ossoff is victorious, it will create the amount of momentum that we will need to go into the midterm elections," said Georgia Democratic strategist Tharon Johnson, though saying what Ossoff has done already is "remarkable."

He added that a victory in the suburban Atlanta district will create a national model that the party can use to flip more seats in the 2018 midterms.

With less than three weeks until the highly anticipated Georgia race, the campaigns and outside groups are showing no signs of slowing down as polls show Ossoff and Republican Karen Handel in a statistical dead heat.

The Georgia district is seen as Democrats' best opportunity to flip a district that has previously elected solidly conservative representatives like former Speaker Newt Gingrich. Trump's razor-thin victory in the suburban Atlanta district last year - he won the district by less than two percent - fuels Democrats' hope that they can use the anti-Trump headwinds to propel them to victory in the seat last held by Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price.

The race comes after Democrats fell in a Kansas race, then in a closer-than-expected race in Montana that followed in the wake of the GOP nominee's physical altercation with a reporter.

Default Ossoff a misogynist

What explains Ossoff's need to dominate his girlfriend, make her support his lifestyle and provide him a place to live? His promise to buy a house in the 6th district 'after' he wins is a clear indication that he is simply using his girlfriend. If he was truly committed to the relationship why not buy her a house in the 6th district and move in 'before' running for the office? Misogynist men often mask their true feelings and proclaim to love their girlfriends/wives, but their actions speak louder than their words.

Default Ossoff needs to dominate his girlfriend

Berit Brogaard D.M.Sci., Ph.D says, "In most cases, misogynists do not even know that they hate women. Misogyny is typically an unconscious hatred." She goes on to list some of the typical traits of a misogynist, and ends by noting, "Only rarely will a misogynist possess every one of these traits, which makes it harder to identify them. Their ability to lure women in with their charm and charisma adds to the difficulty of spotting the early-warning signs."

Default David Brooks claims to have discovered a new type of misogyny

Political commentator David Brooks claims to have discovered a new type of misogyny, which has evolved beyond the old-school understanding of misogynists who condemn and punish women for their sexual powers and transgressions.

I tend to agree, because this new kind of misogynist competes against women in a professional setting, or in this case where Ossoff is competing against a woman for an elective office. Misogyny is the belief that women are inferior to men. It manifests itself in a variety of ways, including boasting that you are the better candidate, that you can do a better job, that you better understand what needs to done. In Ossoff's situation he boasts the only he, not his female opponent, knows how to meet the needs of Georgia's 6th District.

Sure, go ask Hillary if she believes Bill 'da Sexual Predator' Clinton was helpful to her un-successful presidential campaign.

Default Senator Robert Byrd, God rest his soul

If Ossoff wins the 6th District race, he could be the best, and most visible, successor to the late Senator Robert Byrd, D-West Virginia.

Not only has Ossoff been tagged as a misogynist by Berit Brogaard D.M.Sci., Ph.D who claims, "In most cases, misogynists do not even know that they hate women.", but Ossoff would resurrect the accepted, but incorrect view, that misogynist reside only in the Deep South.

So I take it you're not a Trump supporter? Because if so, this is RICH.

The British called a snap national election April 19th and it will be held June 8th. This first election for this single seat was April 18th and the runoff isn't until June 20th. Our election seasons are just way too long.
