The miraculous action of working @ a fast food place, showing up to work on time and performing well and being promoted to management. Then using those skills to work somewhere else if desired. It really is magical.

The contempt goes towards people not working hard and expecting a good life. Those who aren't able are not included in such contempt.

Some people in here are clueless. The workers themselves are probably worth more the money they are requesting, because the supplements we are paying them are certainly costing the government more than $15.00/hr. Now, the question is should the employee pay them the money or the taxpayer. This get a better job, stop being lazy, go to college crap is for the birds. THEY ARE ALREADY GETTING THE MONEY FOLKS!

The workers are priceless. It's the job we need to discuss as being "worth" the pay or not. Just being PC here, folks!

Sorry but no one is entitled to live where they want, whether it is a decent place or not. These people are going to protest themselves out of a job.

Such distinctions are lacking from most of the comments in this thread. It appears that it is to be assumed that simply by demanding a higher wage or by participating in the picket, the workers must obviously fall into the category of those who don't show up on time or work hard, and are therefore worthy of contempt.

Bingo. And that's not being PC, it's being accurate.
