Well, downtown multi-modal terminal is a terrible and generic name for it. Let's name it something new. I'm excited to see 'The Gulch' finally developed on. It's such a strain on the urban fabric of downtown. It, along with the connector just ruins the urban environment of downtown and surrounding areas.

Yea its Nice to see this project makin progress...Just sad to see that theres no news on Gettin the trains Running...The whole reason its being built where it is....And this is just another completed study that Atlanta is good for...Studies and more studies that pretty much all say the same thing...
How about some Real Negotiations with the Almighty Powerful Freights about when and how to get commuter Rail goin...I cud see The Terminal being built before the Trains ever get there...Maybe Amtrak will move In..Jus hope the Terminal can meet its full potential as a Transit hub Instead of all the focus on the Real estate aspect of this. Which dont get me wrong its needed to be succesful but GDOT Needs to get the Ball Rollin on how o fit the commuter trains into the mix

As a native Atlantan, I don't find the Five Points name negative at all.

Five Points is very historically significant--the name should be incorporated and not discarded (like so much of Atlanta history). This is why Grand Five Points Station is perfect--a new start ("Grand"), while still connecting to the soul of Atlanta ("Five Points").

And true cities keep and cherish their place names--knowing full well that "positive" and "negative" connotations is just a matter of dates...and prejudices.
I'm not saying you are wrong and I do appreciate history. But this is kind of political in nature as there is a tax to eventually sell.

Being that HOPEFULLY this will be a commuter rail hub, your target audience will be suburbanites. From a marketing perspective, Five Points is toxic in that market. I'm not saying its right, but it is a reality.

But keep up the good fight Aires. Maybe one day I will be convinced. I did eventually buy HeadOn
