I am looking to purchase a home in Peachtree City, GA and work downtown Atlanta. Would it be faster to park at the College Park Marta station and take Marta to Peachtree station downtown or just drive from Peachtree City to Downtown Atlanta?

going to probably be more expensive to ride MARTA unless parking is a big factor. Will likely take longer too.

Stop spreading damn lies. Yes the southside is more economically depressed than north of downtown, but the guys not going to get stabbed on MARTA south of Downtown. MARTA is safe, one of the safest in America.

Drive, you will save a few mins on your trip.

You might want to look to see if Peachtree City have any buses that will take you into downtown Atlanta. I know they have them in the northern suburbs

GRTA Xpress GA - Xpress Home runs express bus service from Newnan, Xpress GA - Downtown Re-Routing 450 and Union City, Xpress GA - Downtown Re-Routing 455 to Downtown Atlanta.

Driving will be faster. But avoiding the line out of fear would be laughable.

Praveen-
I live in the Braelinn area of PTC and work on the west side of Newnan. Commute in the mornings is 35-40 minutes and afternoons is 40-45 minutes. If you will be working near (at) the new hospital or Cancer Treatment COA you can deduct 10-15 minutes. The biggest obstacle is red lights on Hwy 34. It will also be a little shorter if you are in the Kedron Village of PTC. Being on the southside of PTC though, I will sometimes drop down to Hwy 16 from Newnan and run it to Senoia and then north to PTC. This does not save any time but I get sick of the lights on 34. I moved here in 2003 (4 kids, schools) and made this commute since. Your commute will depend on where you live in PTC and where you work in Newnan. For what its worth, my commute is from the extremes of both PTC and Newnan. Your commute very likely will be less.

I cannot attest to renting a home here. No experience. There are 3 golf courses in PTC.

Now if we had a commuter train from PTC into the City...... Please move there and lobby hard for commuter rail.
