The problem is most of Atlanta's developers cannot think outside of the suburban, strip mall idea box and build a decent, walkable, street-fronting development. This is a great example of developers thinking outside the box and building a Walmart store that complements an urban neighborhood. I think the design.
Also, the residents have issues with increased traffic on two lane minor arterial roads.

While I really like the design I do agree that traffic would still be somewhat of an issue. I google mapped the location in Miami and it's a pretty big intersection (NW 29th Street and North Miami Ave). I guess in ATL it would be a little smaller of a Walmart, but again IF developers could think outside the box.

Great link! The scary thing is that these designs aren't that complicated. These could really transform downtown and Midtown developments. Heck, these could turn some of our major streets into more urban friendly and walkable streets. And the crazy thing is most of these probably contain just as much if not more parking than just the traditional suburban style strip malls. But you still have the urban look and real walkability because all of the stores are street front. Add some true urban condos/apts/townhomes and the city would look so much different and transit would be accepted on a greater level.
