Days Inn Atlanta Downtown, Spring Street Northwest, Atlanta - Google Maps

they're also converting the hotel midtown on 10th into a hyatt.

Good news. That block could really use some sprucing up.

I stayed at an Aloft in northern VA and liked it. Sort of the intersection between an IKEA and a W Hotel.

Good comparison. I stayed at one in Houston and it was nice. Modern but small rooms. Would definitely stay there again.

Aloft is a much better use of space downtown than a days inn!

That's really neat, this is a good hotel for tourists because it is within close walking distance to the GWCC, Aquarium, etc.

Hard to imagine how you ever turn a Days Inn into something trendy, but $25 is certainly not a meager budget! I'm most interested to see what they do with the pool. I'm also glad it will have a bar with live music, nightlife is what the area really needs more than anything to get more vibrant. Hotel nightlife is good because it's easy for the operator to control the crowd.
